Police Commissioner for a Day

The contest is open to all NYC students in grades 9 through 12 only. Each participant will be required to write an essay on the topic that was personally selected by Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly. The essay should be 1,000 words or less. The essays will be judged on the following: originality of ideas, clarity of expression, practicality of ideas, writing ability and neatness. The winners will have an opportunity to spend a day with their top police officials and attend an awards ceremony.
