The PAL I.S. 218 Beacon Center provides children and families with concrete, supportive services in a welcoming environment that will enrich their lives socially, culturally, and educationally. PAL I.S. 218 Beacon seeks to inspire and support youths to overcome obstacles and realize their full potential as members of society.

The center has an afterschool program serving youths ages 5-18. It also provides homework help, arts & crafts, education enrichment, track and field, computer literacy, martial arts, holiday and summer camp, adolescent rap groups, job/career readiness, Youth Council, dance, intramural tournaments, double dutch, flag football, game lounge, boys and girls basketball clinic, volleyball, open gym (adults & youth), ladies’ night, and GED preparation.
