Full-time Education Coordinators (Harlem/Queens)
Job Summary - In consultation with the center director, plan, organize and manage a broad range of educational activities that promote and facilitate learning and good study habits. Perform administrative duties that support and facilitate these activities. Ensure that age-appropriate lessons are implemented for youth ages 6 to 18. Plan, organize and oversee varied activities with the support of the Director of Education, recreation leaders and arts specialty staff. At all times, ensure safety, structure and learning. Provide direction to staff in a manner that ensures that program areas are neat and clean, and that equipment and supplies are managed appropriately. Promote and stimulate interest and participation in all educational activities. Provide ideas and suggestions to the program coordinator and center director for improving programs as often as possible. When presenting a problem or offering constructive criticism, also present an alternative solution. Build positive relationships with youth and adults and serve as a role model with respect to demeanor, communication and behavior. Quickly identify and seek to resolve conflicts and behavioral problems in consultation with the program coordinator, and then center director.
A bachelor's degree and at least three years of experience working with children is required. Computer instruction is necessary for the Harlem site.
Center Directors (multiple sites)
The Center Director will be responsible for the overall planning and operation of the center in accordance with PAL's mission, goals, and policies, in addition to adhering to all governmental agencies’ guidelines. In this role the Center Director will provide leadership, direction, training and support to staff and volunteers in a safe and structured environment.
Summary of Qualifications: A minimum of 6 years experience in a service agency that includes program management and staff supervision, with at least three years in a leadership capacity. A bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related field is preferred. A minimum of two years professional paid work experience in a non-profit youth or social service agency; Experience and comfort working with youth; Strong communication skills both oral and written. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team; Ability to make decisions, prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously; Ability to make deadlines in a fast-paced environment; Flexibility in assuming additional responsibilities.

Arts & Craft Specialist
The Arts & Craft Specialist is responsible for planning, organizing and implementing all arts & craft activities during the summer day camp program. Dance Specialist

Computer Instructor
The Computer Instructor will teach basic computer skills and maintain the center’s computer lab. He/she will work in conjunction with the Center Director, Program Coordinator, Educational Coordinator and staff members to promote interest & participation in computer instruction.
