Cops and Kids
PAL’s highly successful Cops and Kids program promotes
positive interaction between young New Yorkers and volunteer
Police Officers in all five boroughs. Off duty officers act
as mentors for the young adults. The program includes basketball,
softball, volleyball and golf. Over 250 police volunteers
play on the same teams with hundreds of boys and girls. Cops
and Kids has proven to be an invaluable resource for improving
police/youth relationships through one-on-one and team activities.
PAL Boxing Programs
The PAL boxing program currently operates in (6) locations
throughout the five boroughs and generally
operates Monday thru Friday from 6 :00pm to 9 :00 pm during school months. Please call for summer hours. The PAL boxing program is proud to be a member of USA Boxing. You
should contact the individual boxing program for exact times
and information on training schedule. The program is open
to both boys and girls 10 to 21 years of age. There is a
$5.00 registration fee and applications are available at
the boxing sites. PAL boxing has a long and time-honored
tradition and commitment to excellence. Many champions
such as Eddie Mufstafa Mohamed, Kevin Kelly, Junior Jones, Vito Antuofermo and Melissa Hernandez have been
part of the PAL boxing tradition. And the tradition continues with current contenders Jorge Terron, Gary Stark, Jr.and Joel Castillo, Dominga Oliva and Ronney Vargas. PAL is also very proud
of our affiliation with the Daily News Golden Gloves and
host many of the golden gloves shows at PAL facilities. More
