Cops and Kids Softball Championships
FLAG FOOTBALL
The 2015 Cops and Kids Softball Championships were held at Cunningham Park on October 10th, 2015. The championships consisted of four borough championship teams (Staten Island, Brooklyn South, Queens North, and Queens South). The event had over 90 participants including the volunteer police officers. In the finals, the matchup was between Staten Island vs. Queens South and after seven innings of intense softball play; Queens South came out victorious and was crowned the 2015 Cops and Kids Softball champions. The event was an overall success and the weather was perfect for the event.
Flag Football started mid-October with seven sites in all 5 Boroughs. Games are being played at Monte Bello Park and Hinton Park in Queens and Wagner Park in East Harlem, Manhattan. Other games are being held in Edenwald Housing Complex in the Bronx as well as Corporal Thompson Park in Staten Island and Tilden High School in Brooklyn. This year Cops and Kids Flag Football has over 500 hundred kids participating throughout the city. The city wide championships will be held on December 5th at Montebello Park at 10am.
