On July 11, Calvin Soloman, Director of Community Outreach at the Special Narcotics Prosecutor Office and Carlos Velazquez, Executive Director at PAL cut the ribbon at the opening of PAL's Summer PLAYSTREET on West 124th Street in Harlem. This closed street is providing youth with fun recreational opportunities in a safe atmosphere during the summer months. SNP is the proud sponsor of this PLAYSTREET in collaboration with the NYPD and is open Monday - Thursday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. through August 11.
PAL Executive Director Velazquez said “The Police Athletic League PLAYSTREETS has always been about providing a safe place for kids to play and be themselves. This year we continue that tradition with our partner Special Narcotics Prosecutor Bridget Brennan whose support makes it possible."
