Sports Programs Leagues
The Police Athletic League continues its tradition of providing quality sports and recreation programming for the youth of New York City. Under the auspices of the Field Operations Department, PAL organizes and facilitates leagues, tournaments and special events for over 17,000 youth annually. PAL’s sports and recreation programs offers children opportunities to learn discipline, leadership, teamwork, the importance of learning the rules, as well as sportsmanship and patience.
The facilitation of various sports and recreation programming, which includes baseball, softball, basketball, volleyball, hockey, soccer, flag football, boxing, golf, and track & field, are greatly assisted by volunteer police liaisons and officers, community volunteers, coaches, officials and referees.
PAL Leagues and Tournaments
The Police Athletic League serves as the sports & recreation conduit for all New York City youth. In addition to providing sports and recreation programs within PAL centers, the Police Athletic League encourages external independent teams to register and participate in PAL tournaments and special events.

Programs
To keep on the cutting edge of sports and recreation programming the Police Athletic League continues to define its niche by providing traditional sports programming while creating and developing programs to aid in the reduction of a growing number of childhood maladies caused by obesity, diabetes and poor nutritional intake.
PAL Cops & Kids
The Police Liaison youth service unit works closely with the Police Athletic League to bridge gaps in the communities that they service by developing positive relationships between officers and young people; and by serving as mentors and role models. PAL is the only youth service agency that continues to focus on Cops helping Kids helping Communities.
